PITSID and SID Bid Farewell to Retiring Dr Stopporka

After almost twelve years as Managing Director of Sächsisches Institut für die Druckindustrie (SID), Dr Jürgen Stopporka has entered his well-deserved retirement at the end of September 2021.

Thanks to his dedication, Dr Stopporka has had a decisive influence on the development and activities of the research institute and its sister company, PITSID Polygraphische innovative Technik Leipzig GmbH, during this time. 

He was tirelessly committed to the interests of both companies and, with his motivated team of employees, mastered the extensive structural changes in the printing industry during these years by opening up new areas of business and research. During his tenure, he developed important products for the printing industry, such as the LUCHS IV Register Measuring System, the PEEL CONTROL Separating Force Gauge and the NIP CON SMART Contact Zone Measuring System, which have become established worldwide as important tools for quality assurance and for reducing make-ready times in the graphic arts and packaging industries. He also played an active role in a number of state and national non-profit industrial research associations founded during this period (SIG and the Zuse Association).

"We thank Dr Stopporka from the bottom of our hearts for his tireless successful commitment to both companies and his very special, unifying, respectful and committed approach to employees and business partners," said Henry Pohling, Deputy Chairman of the Polygraph Leipzig e.V. association. "We wish you a happy and relaxed retirement and we hope that you will continue to be connected with us," emphasized his successor Dr Thomas Kaulitz.
