After a successful appearance last year with the premiere of the Separating Force Gauge PEEL CONTROL, which is used for the easy measurement of the separating force of glued or heat-sealed materials, PITSID will be presenting other newly developed devices this year as well.
This year’s highlight will without a doubt be the NIP CON SMART, an evolutionary development of the well-established Contact Zone Gauge NIP CON. This device delivers fast and reliable information about the contact zone pressure between roller pairs. The further improvements make the device indispensable in modern times. The now available bi-directional communication via Bluetooth makes the adjustment, set-up and operation of the device even easier. It allows for the digital output, analysis and documentation of the measured results. By using an interactive visualisation of the roller pair diagram, it is almost impossible to make wrong adjustments. The system can communicate with PCs and mobile devices and can be easily connected to networks. It is a big step in the direction of the often quoted ‘Industry 4.0’ for operators.

The second attraction at the stand will be a solution to precisely measure and identify the dimensional accuracy of flat objects. In order to accomplish this, a coded dot pattern is applied to a carrier substrate. During the measurement, a camera records the contours of the object and precisely evaluates the X and Y coordinates. This opens up numerous possibilities to record surfaces, angles, edges and diameters. 
Possible applications can be found in the paper industry, in the processing of printed products as well as many other industry branches where an exact measurement of flat surfaces is essential. For example, the results of die-cutting and trimming operations can be measured extremely fast and with the highest precision using this measurement method.
Visitors will also be able to be informed about the portfolio of the Saechsische Institut fuer die Druckindustrie, an affiliate company of PITSID. The institute is focused on research and development for the printing and packaging industries as well as offering services for these branches. This includes material and substrate testing, machine acceptance tests according to relevant standards as well as certifications.
