Presentation from SID at the INGEDE Symposium 2021
The INGEDE e. V. (Internationale Forschungsgemeinschaft Deinking-Technik e. V.) is an association of leading European paper manufacturers founded in 1989 and aims to preserve and improve the recyclability of graphic print products.
After the symposium had to be cancelled last fall due to the corona pandemic, it is restarting this year. However, this time it will not be held in person, as is usually the case, but as an online symposium. The contents of the symposium are aimed at employees in paper mills, waste disposal companies as well as associations and official agencies. The one-day event will provide information on the new Ecolabel for print products, recycling and the deinkability of applied printing inks and varnishes.
The deinkability of UV inks presents paper mills with new and different challenges. As printed products of various kinds are used for producing graphic papers, board and base papers for corrugated cardboard, it is necessary to remove the ink components and especially the migratable substances that are found in UV inks. In her presentation, Beatrix Genest from the Saxon Institute for the Printing Industry in Leipzig will inform about the results of a research project that focused on the deinkability of UV-curable printing inks.
The conference languages are English and German.
