Printing and Processing Symposium 2022
For better networking and cross-value-added exchange, the three institutions have decided to jointly organize the symposium this year. For the paper, printing and processing industries, the event provides a platform for exchanging ideas and developing their networks.
The event is managed by Dr. Antje Harling (Head of Materials Testing & Analytics, PTS), Beatrix Genest (Head of Research, SID) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Eugen Herzau (Professor of Packaging Technology, HTWK), who have jointly put together an exciting and interesting program with recognized speakers from their research and industry networks.
Main topics of this year's program:
- ▪ Processes: Digitally printed packaging, laser codability of folding box paperboard, creasing processes on corrugated cardboard.
- ▪ Measurement technology: Methods for dimension and shape determination, characterization of the forming behavior of cardboard in the embossing process, the thermoforming capability of cardboard
- ▪ Processing: Injection molding, creasing/perforating/cutting - what works digitally, troubleshooting
- ▪ Sustainability and packaging: Tracer-based sorting of plastics, plastic recycling, the influence of printing and coating on the recyclability of fiber-based packaging, grease barriers for paper, cellulose material solutions for packaging, and the cooling bag made of paper.
Combined with a dinner at the Bayrischer Bahnhof at the end of the first day of the event and a guided tour through the the Faculty of Computer Science and Media at HTWK Leipzig, there will be many opportunities for professional and personal exchange.
The event team is looking forward to numerous participants from the above-mentioned industries who are concerned with the topics of research, product development, quality, production, environment or legal aspects.
